The E-Specimina" Kick-off meeting served as a foundational event to launch the project and establish the framework for its successful execution. It sets the stage for effective collaboration, communication, and project management throughout its lifecycle.

The annual workshops of SwissCollNet are important events to exchange knowledge and ideas. They contribute to develop a strong and dynamic network and allow its members to share and extend their expertise. We will participate at this event with a plenary talk and we will unveil our project to showcase it as an initial study for the integration of ORD and FAIR principles.

The "E-Specimina Roundtable Workshop" not only addresses the immediate challenges faced by the SwissCollNet community but also crafts a roadmap for the future, ensuring that Switzerland remains at the pinnacle of natural history research and conservation in the digital age.

Aims of the event: 1.) Foster Collaboration: To unite key stakeholders including researchers, curators, technologists, and database managers, fostering a spirit of collaboration and collective growth in the context of specimina digitization and management. 2.) Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: To provide a platform for the dissemination of best practices, innovative methodologies, and technological advancements in the realm of specimina management and digitization. 3.) Shape the Digital Future of Natural History Collections: To lay the groundwork for a cohesive, structured, and forward-thinking digital strategy tailored to the unique needs and challenges of the SwissCollNet community.
